Seminar: From Staff Paper to Symphony in 90 Minutes: How Composers Develop Ideas into Music

February 13 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

$40 – $50

Join Florida Atlantic’s Composer-in-Residence for a walk through the music composition process. This program is designed for music lovers curious about how classical music is created. With several opportunities to contribute suggestions, audiences will collaborate with the host as basic musical ingredients are combined, stretched, developed, and orchestrated into a new composition for symphony orchestra. No technical musical knowledge is required, as this process will be presented in general terms that anyone can understand. By the end of the session, the audience of co-composers will get to hear a realistic rendering of their new work and will be able to download a score and recording to share. This program is being presented as a seminar with limited enrollment to foster discussion.
